Heading our way from Atlanta, Georgia, Omni deal in lo-fi pop than channels the spectre of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Evoking fellow US indie rock heroes Television and Devo alongside fellow Georgians Pylon and classic early R.E.M., Omni are led by Deerhunter six stringer Frankie Broyles. Creating short bursts of classic indie pop led by chiming guitar lines, the trio are signed to estimable US indie label Trouble In Mind, whose stable has been showcased at numerous Psych Fests.
A winner first time out, Omni’s debut LP ‘Deluxe’ was released to universal acclaim last July. Bringing together the band’s spiky songs with a warm analogue production, The Guardian’s four-star review applauded the band’s “coloured-in post-punk packed with melody and invention”.
