There can be few other bands with a name better suited to play Psych Fest this year than Walthamstow trio Dreamherbs. A mainstay of the London gig circuit, the trio make their debut appearance at this year’s event. Cooking up a cauldron of dreamy noise rock that owes as much to US hardcore pioneers Bad Brains as San Francisco psych progenitors The Grateful Dead, the London trio combine the heavy blues rock of Cream with the punk attitude of Fugazi.
Bringing the ear-drum-rattling sludge riffs of grunge stalwarts Melvins together with the explosive energy of The Who, the three-piece source the dirtiest over-driven 1960s rock and shoot it through with the razor edge attitude of underground punk.
