The mountain ranges of Snowdonia are shrouded in centuries of magic, mysticism and folklore so it’s no surprise it is the home of CaStLeS. The Welsh four-piece founded by brothers Dion and Cynyr Hamer combine infectious pop melodies with a fierce, driving innovation and experimentalism in the age-old Welsh tradition. Formed back in 2008, the group have been honing their craft ever since, creating their own brand of ethereal folk with hints of spaghetti western drama and the occasional electronic whir.
Having spent the summer wowing the festival circuit, the group released their debut album ‘Fforesteering’ to sizeable praise, seeing them praised for their fuzzy logic which “never ceases to enchant and surprise” when they were named as The Guardian’s ‘New Band of the Week’.
