DAY LINE-UPS ANNOUNCED

We are PZYKED to unveil individual day breakdowns for this year’s festival. Our noisy, electric gathering brings together some of the finest minds from across the psychedelic spectrum on 22 + 23 September, housed across five performance spaces in Camp and Furnace + District in Liverpool’s Baltic quarter.
New York scree architects A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS, garage/dream pop trio L.A. WITCH and Swedish join the fray alongside headliners THE BLACK ANGELS and SONGHOY BLUES for our two-day soirée across four stages at Camp and Furnace, Blade Factory and District in Liverpool’s Baltic quarter. The full PZYK 2017 line-up features a fine selection of artists from across the globe, between them spanning the international PZYK sub-culture.
Individual day tickets go are now on sale from liverpoolpsychfest.com, as well as full weekend tickets for those who don’t want to miss a second of our sixth event.

Friday 22 September

3pm – 4am

Getting the festival off to a flying start on Friday are Songhoy Blues, who headline the opening night’s proceedings. LOOP, THE BUG vs DYLAN CARLSON and LAETITIA SADIER add flourishes of class to the Friday programme, with GNOD returning to the festival three years after making a mighty impact.
John Dwyer’s CASTLE FACE RECORDS – one of the hottest imprints in the world right now – also join us on the Friday of Liverpool Psych Fest, to present IRREGULAR ORBITS, the label’s first ever curated festival stage. Featuring some of their roster’s most fearsome talents – proggy wizards ONCE & FUTURE BAND, freeform freakniks SUNWATCHERS, the fuzzy pop of MALE GAZE, MAGNETIX‘s gallic skronk + Manc noiseniks DUDS – Castle Face’s activity at the festival offers an insight into what the label has in store heading into the fall. PLUS, Castle Face DJs and a host of Castle Face frolics will be peppered across the festival programme.
We’re also PZYKed to welcome Swedish ‘prog’ trailblazers TRÄD, GRÄS OCH STENAR to the festival. The DIY pioneers were ahead of the curve when they began their improvisory journey in the late 60s, playing an integral role in establishing the buoyant Swedish underground culture which flourishes today. Without Träd, Gräs Och Stenar there is no Goat, there is no Dungen.
Other notable Friday highlights include THE TELESCOPES, ACID ARAB, ENDLESS BOOGIE, and DJ sets from THE BROTHERS GRIM and STEVE DAVIS + KAVUS TORABI.

Saturday 23 September

1pm – 4am

The celestial mind expansion continues on Saturday, with The Black Angels bringing things to a thrilling climax as they headline our second day. Alongside them you can expect to be subjected to a barrage of PZYK from A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS, JANE WEAVER, WOLF PEOPLE, THE HOLYDRUG COUPLE, FUJIYA & MIYAGI and plenty more.
We’re also delighted to be welcoming Zamrock pioneers W.I.T.C.H.: WE INTEND TO CAUSE HAVOC to the festival. Largely unknown outside their home country, W.I.T.C.H dominated the Zambian charts during the 1970s, spearheaded by the charismatic Emmanuel “Jagari” Chanda. The band struck up a collaboration with Jacco Gardner in 2016 for their first tour of shows outside of Africa. W.I.T.C.H are also the subject of a feature-length documentary currently in production. We Intend To Cause Havoc explores the life and times of W.I.T.C.H’s lead singer Chanda, and will also be partly filmed at Liverpool Psych Fest.
Other notable Saturday highlights include THE COMET IS COMING, COSMONAUTS, PATTEN, and DJ sets from ANDY VOTEL and THE BROTHERS GRIM.

Day and weekend tickets are on sale now for the two-day happening. Full details on the PZYK 2017 ticketing options can be found on the Tickets section of our website. Physical tickets are also on sale at Probe Records (Liverpool), Piccadilly Records (Manchester), Jumbo Records (Leeds) and Resident Music (Brighton).
